Live in 30 Minutes: Setting Up Your First Channel in Colly.io

The most common onboarding question is: "How long until I see my first orders in Colly.io?" The honest answer: for Amazon and eBay about 15–20 minutes, for Shopify and WooCommerce 10–15 minutes. Here's the exact process.

Step 1: Connect a Channel

Navigate in Colly.io to Settings → Channels → Add New Channel. Select your first marketplace or shop. For Amazon you need an SP-API access key, which you can generate in Seller Central under Apps & Services → Developer. For Shopify, your shop URL and an API key from the Shopify admin area is sufficient.

After entering the credentials, Colly.io automatically runs a connection test and displays the most recent known orders. When orders appear, the connection is successful.

Step 2: Set Up Items and Inventory

Before orders can be processed, items must be linked to inventory levels. Colly.io automatically imports all items from the connected channel. Check in Items → Overview that all products were correctly recognized.

For each item you can store minimum stock and storage location. If you operate multiple warehouse locations, create them under Warehouses → Locations and assign the stock accordingly.

Step 3: Configure Shipping Rules

Under Settings → Shipping Rules you define which carrier should be used for which order type. A simple basic configuration: packages under 2 kg → DHL small parcel, packages 2–31.5 kg → DHL standard parcel. These rules apply automatically as soon as an order is processed.

Step 4: Process Your First Order

Open a pending order in the order list and click "Process." Colly.io automatically suggests the shipping option, displays weight and dimensions, and enables label printing with one click. Tracking number and shipping confirmation are automatically reported back to the channel.
