What is the margin scheme and when does it apply to me?
The margin scheme under § 25a of the German VAT Act may apply when you buy used goods without input tax deduction – for example from private individuals or other resellers. Only the difference between purchase and sales price is taxed instead of the full sales price. Whether and how it applies in your case is a question for your tax advisor – Colly.io supplies the data, not the tax assessment.
Do I have to record a serial number for every item?
No, only for items you have set up as serialized. For those, the serial number is captured at goods receipt together with the purchase price and stays assigned to the transaction permanently. All other items run without an extra step.
Which plans include Device Compliance?
Device Compliance is an add-on for €49 per month and can be added to any plan – from Starter to Expert. It is not included in any plan by default because it is only relevant for merchants dealing in margin-scheme goods.
